Cozy home in Fairfax County, Virginia

(This is a message from the home stay host. We post this since there is some technical difficulty to post on the right place.)

Our family wants to provide our home as a home stay place to help Junior or High School students to be educated in American society. We will encourage and guide the students to be the future leaders in their home country and possibly in American society. We have a home stay experience with a Chinese student who stayed with us for two years. He had some difficulties in humanity subjects but we could help him to make through the High School requirements with a good grade. After graduation, he was accepted by several colleges in America.

We can provide healthy meals and administrative support for schooling. I am an Engineering doctor and teaches at a college with the subject of Information Technology. My wife is an experienced nurse and will prepare good meals. She will also care for the students' health while they stay with us. We are sincere Christians and treat all people with warmth and kindness. We will communicate with the students and their parents to adjust students' needs with flexibility and in a responsible manner. We will also function as a parental role to provide rides to and from the school, participate in the school activities, and attend school consultations.

Our home is located in the popular Fairfax County where good public schools around. The nearby public school is the Lake Braddock Middle and High School with about 10 minutes walking distance. The Trinity Christian School is also a good private school at a distance of 10 minutes drive. Our community is very safe and comfortable to live in. Our neighbors are friendly and care for each other.

DearKim, Yesterday was Adam's high school graduation day. Thank you for attending his graduation ceremony, which was a great surprise for him. We really appreciate you and your wife's care for Adam during his stay at your house. The warmth and care of a loving family you provide for Adam has enabled him quickly accustomed to the school life and the new environment. Now he has successfully graduated. As a Chinese saying goes, a mother always worries about her travelling son. Adam left his parents for study in the States at such a young age. Except for his study, we also concern about his mental and physical health. With your guidance and care, he has overcome many academic diffculties and has got significant improvements in his performance. Moreover, he feels very relaxed and happy at your house and has developed good living habits. In terms of social interaction, he has established nice relationships with teachers and schoolmates. He has made some new friends as well. He was very relaxed everytime we had video chats with him. As his parents, it is very fortunate for us to have asked you to take care of him, which turns out that he has been so mentally healthy and happy. We apologize for any inconvenience that his stay has caused to your life. He still has a long way to go ahead of him, so it'll be highly appreciated if you could tell him aspects that he could mend or improve. He will go back to China this week and will start college life after the summer vacation. 2 years is a long time and we will never forget your care for him. We sincerely welcome you and your wife to China. Again, we appreciate your care,tolerance and love. Yours
